Sarah Louise and Daniel met in 2006 in the local night club. They became friends and then two years later, in the same night club, they realised they had a real spark and that they’d like to be more than friends!
I was on a family trip to Wexford. We were eating in our favourite restaurant and I was missing him and wishing he was there too. As I was sitting there reading the menu, Daniel appeared at the door of the restaurant. He had a leather bound scrap book in his hand, which was filled with all the memories we had made over our 6 years together (concert ticket stubs, airplane tickets, photos etc). He had kept these throughout the years and then organised them in chronological order as a summary of our relationship. One such keepsake was a caricature, which we had posed for on our first holiday together. The caricaturist had sketched Daniel down on one knee in the drawing, as a joke at the time. This caricature was now a key part of his proposal as it was on the last page of the scrapbook with the words, “Will you marry me?” added to it. When I looked up, he was down on one knee holding a ring box and asking me to marry him.
We had our wedding at Bellingham Castle in County Louth. We chose it because it is so romantic and unique. It really is what dreams are made of. We had also heard so many amazing reports about weddings at Bellingham Castle and it definitely lived up to our high expectations. Their attention to detail and their willingness to accommodate our every wish made our wedding day experience at Bellingham unforgettable. Ciara and Patrick are amazing at what they do! Our guests are still commenting on the whole experience and how special they were made to feel on our wedding day
Sarah Louise: Seeing Daniel in the church, standing at the top of the aisle, was my favourite moment of the day. All morning I kept thinking that I couldn’t wait to see him so that moment, at the top of the aisle, was very special.
Daniel: My favourite moment was walking down the aisle, hand in hand, as husband and wife, after our wonderful wedding ceremony. St Brigid’s Church in Dunleer was so beautiful and Fr. Joe made the ceremony really special too.
Looking back, if we were to change anything, we would probably delegate more of the jobs on the wedding day – paying the wedding entertainers, for example. On your own wedding day, remember to just relax! Make a conscious effort to take it all in. The day goes by so quickly and you’ll be thinking about it, talking about it and wishing you could do it all again for the rest of your life. Enjoy it!
Sarah Louise: My favourite part of the planning process was finding my wedding dress. It made everything so real!
Daniel: Mine was going to see Bellingham Castle for the first time. We just got so excited about imagining what our day would be like!
We really did our research before picking our suppliers so we knew we were in safe hands.
Photos are so important to us and we felt very confident that Jenny was documenting every aspect of our special day. We are so thrilled with our photos. She was like a fourth bridesmaid and was great at making everyone feel at ease. Jenny and Jen were just fabulous to have by our side on the day.
Jimmy and Mike from JMB Videos were so professional in capturing our wedding day and produced a wedding trailer and video that far surpassed our expectations. We have watched them at least 10 times!
Audrey and Michelle at All About Weddings had St Brigid’s church in Dunleer looking so beautiful. Anything we asked for was absolutely no trouble. I would highly recommend them to everyone.
Emma Jane Cullen Hair Stylist is an absolute miracle worker! She was the first to arrive on the morning of the wedding and got the craic going in the house. She made everyone look gorgeous and, within minutes, created the exact up style I had requested.
Mary Ellen Darby Makeup Artist is so talented and such a lovely person to have in your house on the morning of your wedding. She did exactly what I wanted on the day and created a really natural look. I felt like a million dollars!
Tropical Storm were the highlight of the day. They got the party started at 3pm and kept it going until the meal was almost over. Everyone was dancing and singing along with them.
DJ Phil Cawley was great to have at our wedding. He is such a lovely person and read the crowd really well. He had the dance floor full and everyone raved about him.
Our band, Vegas Nights, were great! They have amazing staging and worked really hard at keeping our guests on the floor all night.
We had the most amazing day of our lives. Our new home is now adorned with beautiful photos of the day that we can enjoy for the rest of our lives. Thank you, Jenny, for capturing every special moment and making them timeless.
