If you’re getting married in the middle of winter then the theme and decor of you’re wedding is going to reflect that. We love a theme here at Weddings by Jen so in this post we’re going to look at some winter-themed wedding cakes! Don’t worry, we haven’t gone over the top (for the most part)! We’ve chosen some of our favourite wintery cakes for your viewing pleasure.

These first three cakes all have that winter wonderland look. The berries, pine cones and sprigs of green really represent that end of year coziness! The first cake is very simple and would would fit really well in a similarly styled wedding. The second one has a whole lot more going on! This cake would really be a statement piece in the room. From the little icing mushrooms to the bark-like exterior, this woodland cake is the perfect addition to a rustic themed wedding. Lastly, back to simplicity, the winter foliage and berries look incredible. The snowy caster sugar really tops it off!

We absolutely love the decoration of these two cakes. There’s so much going on but they’re still so elegant and pretty. They’ve got those gorgeous, muted winter tones. We especially love the dressing on the first cake. Very chic!

It’s only right to include these kinds of cakes in a post like this one! On the left we have the Christmas cake to beat them all. Why not have a bit of fun with it? If you’ve chosen this time of year to get married, specifically because of Christmas, then a cake like this would be perfect to get the excitement going! On the right we have a cake that’s decorated in celebration of the new year! From the fondant icing to the colourful sprinkles and firework cake toppers, this cake is perfect for ringing in the new year and your new life together!

What do you think of these winter wedding cakes? Do you think it’s a good idea to match the decoration of your cake to the time of year? Would you rather keep things simple with the design or are would you like to have a bit of fun? Let us know and show us your winter wedding cakes!
